Painting with light 2

Posted by
Tracy (Charlotte, United States) on 19 December 2010 in Art & Design.

Since the last image was so busy I went with a much more simple "zen" feeling composition for my second try at light painting.

The most difficult thing about painting with light is the total lack of control- It's complete guesswork and then refining from there!

I really like this image Tracy as it is much more refined. Light painting, especially controlling the light (and spill) is a true art form. I look forward to seeing more!

This is so beautiful and smooth even though the subject colors are bright...I think the light painting does that. It lends a smoothness and a new mood and feeling to colors that might normally be more "energetic" shall we say. wall of red is still smooth in my opinion...smooth, like a freshly baked snickerdoodle....Sorry, I had to say it. But seriously this IS a really great job Tracy..I love the mellow tone even with bright cool!

This technique is something we all should try . . . As you suggest, it is impossible to predict the outcome but, used cleverly (or luckily!) it can produce exceptional results.
