The Door at Pfeiffer Beach

Posted by Tracy (La Selva Beach, United States) on 22 June 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Taken last January...Can't wait for this to happen again, so I can get some more shots. This is just so cool to see in person.

Please visit my website: http://www.tracyhagen-naturalvision.com

I may not be able to respond to all comments, but I read and appreciate every one of them.

I am currently attending classes at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, in the Photography department.

I hope to someday make photography a full time profession.

Thanks for viewing my blog. Please do not use my images without permission.

This is classic icon, but your colors show it in a fantastic glow. Wonderful, Tracy, a winner!

22 Jun 2009 5:38am

@always: Thank you so much! This spot has been over-photographed I am afraid, but as with any famous place I still would like to see if I can make my own image, even if it is just for my own enjoyment!

Don Smith from California, United States

This is such a beautiful location to photograph Tracy and you nailed it! Great motion with the water. I tell myself every year that there is nothing more I can do different with this arch as I have photographed it extensively over the past five years. Yet, one of my friends will call and the next thing I know, I am back in the car wondering how I can make this arch look different - it has become an old friend.

22 Jun 2009 2:07pm

@Don Smith: Thanks, Don! I know what you mean! For me, this was the first time I had seen it, so everything was new. Sometimes for me that seems to help-somehow the excitement of the experience carries over. (Can't believe I have lived on the Central Coast my entire life and did not know about this until last year!)

22 Jun 2009 9:55pm

Rand from Orem, United States

There is a reason why some sites are photographed so much: they are spectacular. I am always amazed at how moved I am at a particular site even though I know thousands have been there before me. This is a great shot. I love how there is a diagonal that divides the warmer tones in the top left and cooler tones in the bottom right.

22 Jun 2009 11:57pm

@Rand: Thank you very much! Couldn't agree more-Even when I know I am one of thousands of people to see and photograph this, I try not to let that overshadow my own enjoyment of it!

About your question above - Celina is not far from here. Arlington is right between Dallas and Ft. Worth. Celina is where my dad grew up. I posted an old photo of him on Father's Day.

chakrapani from Hyderabad, India

Hi .. One of the pics i voted for in NGC contest.. :) and then i see it in the spotlight. it feels nice to see a fellow aminus3 doing great in photography.

Lovely pic. U really took the effort to get the shot right. Patience is something that every photographer should have and the pic that comes out of the effort, the long wait, the difficult climb, the early mornings .. are worth it. Good work tracy

2 Sep 2009 4:47pm

@chakrapani: Thanks so much! You are so right... and all worth it when the shot turns out the way you want it to! :)

ATC544 (Artistry (1-5), Technicaly (1-5), Creativity (1-5)) my own scale by the way...
Love this too. Macnifique, amazing.
You know yourself as a semipro that composition is perfect and technically great.
Creativity points on my scale 4 meaning very cr... and that's one of the most importatnt
thing when shooting and sign of real fine art photographer. You for sure are approaching that
status, I'm convinced.

But when you are already semipro, I appreciated direct critisism of my images if someday
liked to check. Thank's already in advance and have a nice day and end of this fall season.

15 Nov 2009 3:00pm

@lare: Thank you! I will certainly check out your images-But remember, I give only my opinions, I don't always know your intent when you were shooting! Cheers to you!

lare from kangasala, Finland

Hi Tracy, you fabulous photographer, I couldn't help staying away here and look again this amazing image.
What to say this time, almost everything said before.
This reminds me something heavenly too, next frame would be a luminous angel shape coming inside.
This image really is multilayer one and very narrative. In my on language I could write almost endless...but better so that it's not possible in english and one have to find out the hearth/idea of the picture.

And what's the idea here: To my mind it could be "Cave of Creation".

Your photo makes me to remind those stunning caves in France "La Grotte de Lascaux"

http://www.lascaux.culture.fr/#/fr/00.xml/

Take a visit and listen the electronic music on background, underlines very well for the beauty
of your picture too.
Your cave could be from here too, from the very early morning of mankind on planet earth.

Big applauses to you !

24 Nov 2009 1:21pm

@lare: Thank you so much! You are so kind!

Jacqueline from Montréal, Canada

this photo is quite good indeed with a lot of details in the dark zone... the atmosphere is very good... I like this golden light coming in contrasting with the blue " smoke "
