I'm Hooked!Posted by Tracy (La Selva Beach, United States) on 7 March 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. I thought it would be nice to re-visit the whole reason I am still taking photos today....I took this shot on our 20th wedding anniversary trip to Sedona, Arizona. I was so happy and excited to have caught the far away lightning! The elation that I felt, knowing I had captured something special is the reason I keep going back out into the crazy weather. The gifts are there, I just hope I know where (and how) to look. Please visit my website: http://www.tracyhagen-naturalvision.com I may not be able to respond to all comments, but I read and appreciate every one of them. I am currently attending classes at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, in the Photography department. I hope to someday make photography a full time profession. I love not only the lightning but that exquisite light on the right. Sedona is a very special place; we lived in Flagstaff through most of the 80s, and loved dropping down through Oak Creek Canyon to visit. 7 Mar 2009 4:21pm Scott Schilling from San Martin, United StatesDear Tracy, This is simply awesome - I see how you felt - this is probably one of those photographs that you take and then you can stare at it time and time again for the rest of your life. Barbara from Florida, United StatesOutstanding! Really a prize shot. Everything is composed just right, the clouds, the rock formations and the strike. 10 Mar 2009 4:25am @Barbara: Thanks so much! I am new to this site so it took a while for me to figure out what the "spotlight" was---I am thrilled! :) MrsAmber from West Wickham, United KingdomI have been blessed to have been in this area on vacation once and I can see how it must have inspired you. And isn't photography just about knowing where to look? Well done. 11 Mar 2009 8:21pm DLB from Saint Joseph, United StatesBarbare-Your shot caught my eye because of the tell tail rock formation of Red Rock Country. I was in Arizona and was able to capture a few images but your shot is a real winner. Right place at the right time as they say plus experience. Nice compostion and the lightning really makes the shot! very nice image.
