Frozen Leaves

As hard as I try, and I will keep trying, I find that large landscapes are very difficult for me to shoot. So much going on...What to include, what to leave out, what is my focal point? On & on....In a recent photography class, my assignment for the day was to "QUIT THINKING" and photograph with your heart!
The lesson for me was that I tend to over-think while I am shooting. Yes, there is always something to think about--exposure, aperture, yada, yada, yada. Well....
These quiet frozen little leaves spoke to my heart.

I am currently attending classes at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, in the Photography department.
I hope to someday make photography a full time profession.

beautiful shot.. selective focus and DOF is fantastic. the tow leaves joined together.. kind of looksl ike a heart :-). Nice find!

Wonderful capture Tracy! Love the little details you captured here. I like you find landscapes harder for some reason....I tend to gravitate toward this type of image when I follow my heart :)

This is a fantastic shot. I love the way the frost makes an outline for the leaves. Did you desaturated the color in the background in post, or was it truly that colorless? Either way it is really great.

@Rand: Thank You! I did not do much to this in post-processing...I did saturate the colors of the leaves a bit, but the background was just dead twigs- really no color at all!
